Strangeboy 04:15
Tell me boy how is that you got so strange? What is the name of that song you sung? What was it that got you so out of range? Where does the fog that circles 'round your head come from? I don't care what names they call you. I don't care at all. I'll chase the mob out of your little world. I'm gonna open up your floodgates, break down your strange walls. Strangeboy, I'll be your Strangegirl. I loved him in the summer, loved him in the spring, though he very well could be my fall. They're his frightened words I'm reading, it's his song I sing. He's got aging foreign circus posters on his wall. I don't care what names they call you. I don't care at all. I'll chase the mob out of your little world. I'm gonna open up your floodgates, break down your strange walls. Strangeboy, I'll be your Strangegirl. I'll star in all his films. I'll sing at all his concerts. We'll go running through the streets. Tell me boy, how is it that you got strange? I'm gonna make you love me whether you like it or not. I'm gonna be sticking around, and when you push me out with your strange song and plot. I'll just hold your heart tighter and dance to it's sound.

Here again, I haven't seen you here since way back when she fell apart before your eyes. Now and then, we'd see you come and go and come again back where she fell apart. It's okay. The room is empty and nothing has been saved, if you could see her today. Now and then we'd see you come and go and come, and the way she'd always look at you would make you eat your heart out. Seasons change. The sun goes down and gives her room to shine in the dark of the night, but not no more. The colors fade and march right out the door, and left for memories. It's okay. The room is empty and no one is to blame, if you could see her today. Now and then we'd see you come and go and come, and the way she'd always look at you would make you eat your heart out. Seasons change. The sun goes down to give her room to shine. Can you please help me get down? (I can't help you get back down.) I'd jump but I can't see the ground. (Why were you up that high?) She promised me she'd be okay. (Why is she not okay?) Every time that I wake up it's killing me, killing me.

Down the road and three blocks west, open up your bloodshot eyes, you'll find a house with lots of cars parked in the drive way, lights shining through all the windows, follow the music to get you there. I know you'll love my house and all the people inside. Stepping on the carpet without taking off your shoes, my parent's vase already has a crack down the middle. (That's not gonna make them happy.) But I know they'll always love me know matter what I do. Fire in the fireplace, I thought this was June seventeenth. I know, we know, but I don't think we really care. Bottles scattered on the ground, strange smells and strange sounds abound, I know what you have in that little tiny handbag. Jumping in the shower without taking off your clothes, the drywall already has ten holes punched in it. (That's not gonna make them happy.) But I know they'll always love me no matter what I do. They'll come home tomorrow and find me sleeping here, and yell at me and all my friends. Then i'll go up to my room to cry and pout, and next week I'll sing and twist and shout.

Reflection glistens in my eyes as I watch your hair part to the side. I'm probably a pretty nice guy. From the mall to the car to your door, I'm inside. You can get away if you try, but it's certainly not helping you to hide. My patience seems to have worn thin as you smile softly to your friends. Those sounds that wake you late at night, "who's that out there?" It's only me. You can get away if you try, 'cause I don't even have an alibi. You can get away if you try, but it's certainly not helping you to cry. And there's a cover-up for anything at all, but I won't hurt you, and I'll never lay a hand on you at all, I promise that I'll never hurt you. Reflections glisten in my eyes as I watch your hair part to the side. It's getting long if you ask me, but you can't, 'cause I'm not in the vents tonight. You can get away if you try, 'cause I don't even have an alibi. And there's a cover-up for anything at all, but I won't hurt you, and I'll never lay a hand on you at all, I promise that I'll never hurt you.

She sang at night on a Friday and Saturday. Her golden grin would tease the microphone. And we all cried out loud from the crowd. Did you know Ruby? What an indescribable sound. We used to sing to all her songs, but did you know Ruby after hours? She grabbed my hand with hers, with a cigarette, and it burned a hole that left a scar. And she sat in a big red chair behind the stage. She'd take to the center, and set her drink down gently. We used to sing to all her songs. but did you know Ruby after hours? Take my hand and understand, I love your songs with all my heart. And if you leave me alone tonight, just sing this one last song for me.

The dark-haired girl from yesterday, we used to sit and watch her games, but we knew all this all along. We spent so many nights wondering where she went so fast, never came back. But we got through all the pain and all the tears of yesterday. I just can't seem to forget how I sat through all her smiles, and all the love trapped in those eyes. The dark-haired girl from yesterday, we used to sit and watch her games, but we knew this all along. We spent so many nights wondering where she went so fast, never came back. The blue-eyed boy from down the road, now he spends his nights alone, and he's seen all this before. He's been inside her arms and he broke her little heart like she broke his. Nobody knows who she is, but we got through all the pain and all the tears of yesterday. I just can't seem to forget how I sat through all her smiles, and all the love trapped in those eyes. The dark-haired girl from who knows where, you see her cry but does she really care? 'Cause she'll look the other way. Her heart his made of stone, and she drinks the cold red blood of those she knows. And now she's standing at our feet, and we can't think of much to say, and we tell her she looks fine, and ask her where she's been. But she doesn't have a clue of who she is. Nobody knows who she is, but we got through all the pain and all the tears of yesterday. I just can't seem to forget how I sat through all her smiles and all the love trapped in those eyes.
